Crosses

I'm thinking 2 more small crosses and I'm done. I cropped out much of the surrounding space so it's hard to tell how they would fit looking at this photo but I do think 2 small ones would finish off the grouping nicely. I'm thinking 5 inche sizes would be good.

Panoramic at Ft. Sill, OK

AIT graduation was canceled today due to the ice storm. Looks like we are stuck here for a day or two. So, no graduation photos since there wasn't a ceremony. Instead I'll share one of Clay's taken from the training field.

He created this panoramic using his new camera we gave him for BCT graduation [at Ft. Knox, KY]. When you are approaching Ft. Sill you have these mountains rise up from no where. I bet this would be a pretty view in the late spring / early summer when everything is green.

Clay received his orders and will be headed to Ft. Campbell where he will be attached to the 101st Airborne Division. You can learn more about it here.

Friends...

...make life sweeter!

In 2009 I spent the last 7 weeks of Mama's life with her. I struggled with much during this time including being over a thousand miles from home. My life group friends made a quilt and mailed it to me. It touched my heart in a way that words cannot express.

More Bread

My book, Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day, arrived. I see I made a few errors using the master recipe found on a blog. The bread was still good though. I mixed up another batch and made two small boule's to take to life group last night. I was pleased with the looks of my second attempt of cloaking the bread. I am now awaiting the arrival of the second book, Healthy Bread in Five Minutes a Day.

Not just to warm your feet

Socks are not just to keep your feet warm! They are an accessory. Every year I look forward to receiving several new pair in my Christmas stocking. Barry does a great job picking out some cute ones. I like to coordinate my socks with my outfit.

Artisan Bread

This bread comes from the book "Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day", which I have on order. This recipe from the book can be found online. This was so easy and the house smelled wonderful. It makes a big batch. You take what you want to bake and refrigerate the rest of the dough for up to 14 days. Barry liked it. [He ate half a loaf already]. I can't wait to get the book and try more recipes.

Small gifts...

... can be the sweetest treasures. There is something special about this little gift I received at Christmas, other than it came from a sweet friend. It is a tiny tea light holder. I enjoy using it daily with some of my favorite tea lights, like Sandlewood. Perhaps it reminds me of the joy I have watching the hummingbirds [and Orioles] that visit my feeders set out just for them. How long till Spring???

Breakfast!

The mind of a squirrel..

I smell BREAKFAST!

Hey lady, you're late!

Did you move it?

What's with the plastic?

Let's see what's on the menu!

Mmm! I'll just put my trash on the porch.

Guess he didn't mind that I recycyled this old tupperware into a feeding box for the winter.

What a joy to have Clayton home for 16 days at Christmas. That was the best present I could have!
