Yummy Cake

This is more like a cake bread. Not really cake but not really bread. A good combination. I just added fresh strawberries and blueberries to the thick batter.

Escapee

As we prepared to take a 3 day get-away we made a stop to check the map. When we turned to get back on the road this caught Barry's eye. Now, this is not the rabbits living here in the midwest. It had to of been a pet that escaped. We tried knocking on the door of the nearest neighbor but no one answered. I do hope the little fellow was found or manages to keep himself safe.

Sunday visitors

A few weeks ago I had the company of two fledgling blue jays. They spent Sunday afternoon on my back patio and side porch. The next morning I wondered about them and walked the back yard looking for them. I spotted one - sitting on the bird bath. Okay, he could fly that high.

Well, next he showed me he could fly a little higher and landed on the top of the swing frame. But, hey! He wasn't done yet.

Next he flew to the roof and I knew he had learned what was needed. I was amazed of how they were not afraid of me. I didn't dare touch them or bother them after my photos were taken.

Sophie didn't like the idea they were so close on the side porch and just beyond reach on the other side of the window.

One of God's gifts

I have enjoyed watching the Hummingbirds and Orioles from my kitchen window this year. You have to be quick to take their photo.

Living here in the midwest it's not unusual to see these critters living along side the roadway or stores.
